The fair "Il Perdono di Melegnano" dates back to 1563.
So, to design the logotype, I chose an alphabet that Luca Pacioli drew around that period. I re-designed some of the letters from the "Alphabeto dignissimo antico" (the noblest, most worthy alphabet) of Luca Pacioli respecting all of the "divine" proportions of the golden sections.
[The "Alphabeto dignissimo antico" of Luca Pacioli was a section from his masterpiece "Divina Proportione" printed for the first time in Venezia (Italia) in 1509 by Paganinus de' Paganinis. In 1960 the "Alphabeto dignissimo antico" was re-printed in all of its originality by Amilcare Pizzi-Silvana Editoriale d'Arte, Milano, (Italia)]- LR
