Can you print 3rd party filaments?

The short answer is no*

Our printheads, materials, and profiles have been extensively engineered to work together. The parts produced are strong, accurate, and reliable. There are no firmware locks on what materials you can print, but we are not able to support you with 3rd party filaments.
Developing a new material with the associated profiles and hardware changes takes us months of work; we are a small team and focused on providing the best experience for the user and consistent, reliable, and high-quality prints.

Will 3rd party filaments void my warranty?

3rd party materials will void the warranty on the print head and build tray it's used with.

What do I need to do to print other filaments?

See answers above.

Can you print high-temperature materials (like PEEK and Ultem)?

Our Nylons have a heat deflection of 180-190°C.

Can you print TPU?

No, the melt zone of our print head is not designed for TPU.

Do you have the ability to print multi materials? Dual extruder?

Dual extruder is not currently available.

Our breakaway supports work really well, and we believe they replace the need for separate support material. Ask for samples if you want to see them!

Are you able to heat the chamber to 60°C or higher?

The chamber can passively heat to 50°C; Our Materials do not require a hotter chamber, even for large parts that are traditionally prone to warping.

How do I upload files?

Through the (local) web interface (link).

What Slicer do you use?

Pantheon Slicer (forked from SuperSlicer/PrusaSlicer)

Can I download the slicer and simulate my parts?

Yes, please see our documentation here.

Do you have profiles for Cura?

No, it's a lot of work to support more than one slicer; if someone wants to make a port of our profiles for Cura, we're more than happy to validate them.

Do you have plans for a larger printer?

One day! Please get in touch with us if this is something critical for your business.

What’s the lifespan of a print head?

The lifespan of the printhead can be understood in sub-components.

Starting from the nozzle to the top:

should be replaced after printing 20kg of filament - It may last longer, but your chances of developing a clog increase after 20 kg (6 spools)

Drive/extruder gears

60kg-100kg (20-30 spools). Replaceable - high-wear gearset coming soon.

Extruder Body

250-500kg (2-4 years); we're still running extruders from 3 years ago with no signs of decreased performance. All the parts that “touch” the filament are replaceable (see above).

RETURNS AND SHIPPING:

Do you have a return policy?

We offer a 30 day return policy. If the printer isn’t right for you for some reason, let us know and we will happily refund your order, minus shipping fees.

Is there a restocking fee for returns?

No return fees required. Just pay for shipping.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship direct from our warehouse to North American addresses. For the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa please contact christian@3dverkstan.dk

Is there a shipping cost?

Shipping costs for the printers in North America range from $300-600. We currently cover border fees. There is no duty on the printer. Filament and other items may incur duties if the total order is over $2500.

Do you offer in-store pick-up?

Yes we do. You can select pick-up as a delivery option at checkout. Let us know if you are planning to drive across a border, though. It gets complicated when you try to import machinery on your own.

How long is the order processing time?

It typically takes 1-3 business days for us to process an order. We don’t work weekends so if you place an order on Friday, we won’t get to it until Monday.
